2009 Selkirk celebrated our 125th year in business.
2007 Selkirk acquired Axxton Blocks & Pavers in Green Fields, SA.
2005 Jock Selkirk, a fifth generation Selkirk family member, joined the company as Chief Financial Officer.
1998 Selkirk acquired Stratford Brick & Paving in Gippsland, VIC.
1994 Jamie Selkirk became the first of the fifth generation Selkirk family members to join the company.
1992 Selkirk acquired Shepparton Brick & Paving in Sheppaton, VIC, entering the concrete products market.
1983 Selkirk introduced clay pavers to our product offering.
1982 Selkirk acquired Phillips Bricks & Pottery pressed brick plant in Bendigo, VIC.
1965 Selkirk’s plant became Australia’s first to be fully automated.
1962 Selkirk introduced Australia’s first tunnel kiln – the World’s first to be fired by butane gas.
1955 Selkirk introduced Australia’s first brick packaging.
1945 Production recommenced following the war closure.
1943 Production ceased during the war.
1935 James Selkirk died prematurely, and his sons William and Ronald take over the business.
1921 Founder Robert Selkirk died, aged 81.  His son, James, took over the business.
1905 The first continuous kiln was introduced, enabling Selkirk to produce six million bricks per year.
1900 Selkirk moved to the current Ballarat manufacturing and head office site, 630 Howitt Street.
1892 Robert Selkirk invested in his first brickmaking machinery.
1883 Robert Selkirk began producing bricks by hand at Allendale, VIC, in response to the building boom created by the Ballarat gold rush.
